By Robert Thomas

While some injuries may require physical therapy and prescribed medication, others can be treated at home. In these cases, back pain can often be eliminated either permanently or temporarily through the use of over the counter medications and topical numbing ointments. In either case, it is important that individuals taking prescription medication for other issues inquire about any potential drug interaction.
